These little gems rolled into my inbox recently, fresh from the clutches of the In-Reach tractor beam; I absolutely love these cuts. A really nice change from the hell fire dance floor tracks that are so prevalent these days; a sure sign the Drum & Bass scene is still alive with diversity.
‘If & only’ A sophisticated, moody track, full of deep vibes and tactical samples; the snare fizzes through your temporal lobes with plenty of venom, adding a sizeable snap to the routine head bopping; A neck brace comes with the track as standard issue! The drums swim through a distorted, fragmented mid-bass atmosphere and a series of filtered Rasta vocal stabs, almost Gregorian in feel, to provide a haunting dreamscape that is sure to get any venue transported into an alternative dimension!
‘Long time’ Lush pads and a plutonium sub give rise to another soulful, dreamy track from Ed:It.
Interspersed through the tune, is a classy piano arpeggio which provides some real top end prowess and almost shimmers through the mix. Filtered vocal stabs throughout the track provide a haunting, tonal quality, which are expertly resampled to give further bass layers and FX. Production wizardry at its best!
