Bestival ’17 – The Year of Colour

Easy squadron! We’re heading back down to Bestival again this year and we’re buzzing. This year it’s moved from the Isle of Wight to the Lulworth Estate in Dorset where Camp Bestival’s been held for nearly a decade. This means that not only do we get to avoid the arduous ferry and coach service this year, but we get to revel around the grounds of a castle on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast pretending we’re in Game of Thrones for the weekend. Win-win.

The line-up this year looks like the best it’s ever been. My favourite group of all time A Tribe Called Quest are headlining on the Castle Stage, which also hosts a few other huge urban names like Danny Brown, Wiley, Nadia Rose, Dizzee Rascal and Ray BLK over the course of the weekend. Some huge names in Grime, Jungle, DnB and Techno are making an appearance, with an intensely eclectic plethora of acts performing across a total of eleven stages at the award-winning Bestival this year. We’ve plucked out some of our favourite for you below…

Jon 1st (World DMC Champion) – “My set at Bestival is a special ‘Soundsystem set’ for Trojan Soundsystem. I’ll be playing dub, reggae, dancehall as well as footwork and beats cut up with scratching etc – so a little different from what people familiar with my normal output are used to from me.
It’s been 5 years since I last played at Bestival and I can’t wait”
