#Back of the stack, catching up with artists in the scene every 2 weeks and reminiscing on some of their favourite tracks from back in the day. No real rules, just sharing some musical knowledge and reflecting on the past….
This week we caught up with Quartz – a name to watch out for! His first release came out back in 2013, and since then he’s come from strength to strength. In 2014, he remixed DJ Trace’s legendary ‘Sonar’ on 117, and has continued to release a high-calibre of music ever since on the likes of DSCI4, IM:LTD, Alignment Records & Warm Communications. After releasing his debut on Metalheadz last year, Quartz has now officially signed exclusively to the legendary label. The future is certainly looking strong for Quartz and we can’t wait to hear what’s next from the talented producer. See what he selected when we asked him to pick 3 favourite records….
Optical – Grey Odyssey
For me this was a game changing album, I guess this one consistently stood out to me. Music that tells a story and paints a picture. Exceptional ear for detail.
Photek – Minotaur
The master of sampling & arrangements. This one still stays with me now, drum programming here was so ahead of its time.

Marcus Intalex & ST Files – Universe
The man whose music helped curate my taste today, goes without saying I had to include something from Marcus here.
