This weeks artist sharing his top three tracks is HLZ, formerly of Need For Mirrors. Known for his rolling and thumping productions, HLZ has just released his debut solo EP for Dispatch Recordings entitled ‘Vectors’. This six tracker is quality from start to finish and definitely deserving of all the support it has been recieving from DJ’s and ravers alike. If you like your tunes gritty and rolling, ‘Vectors’ will not disappoint, a promising start for HLZ on the mighty Dispatch.
Now on to HLZ’s #backofthestack selections……
I’m not joking, I think I listened to this more than 1000 times. Wormhole was my jam when I was 19 and this track particularly was my favourite one, pure funk madness with perfect sci fi contour.
This is a perfect track for nightly walks surrounded by industrial buildings!
I simply love this track and I still play it during my gigs. I love the melancholic still threatening tone of it. One of my favourite basslines ever and the drums are simply perfect . Oh and the A side was ‘Carrier’, possibly the best Quarantine 12″ in my opinion.
The track that really started it all. Most addictive hook ever. I remember myself singing the rave stab hook to people, because I wanted to know who wrote that incredible track. When it comes to dub influences in
jungle/dnb nobody does better than Digital. A top 10 anthem for me since ever!
