The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting colder, the UK’s leaving the EU, and it’s Monday. What is there there to look forward to, i.e. what have you got planned for the weekend? Think of the answer to that question in your head, and now ask yourself is it better than seeing Skepta, Giggs, Frisco, Casisdead, Plastician, Murlo, Mumdance, Maximum, Rich Reason and Jonny Dub at Warehouse Project this Saturday? It’s a no isn’t it…

The fifth instalment of Warehouse Project’s 2016 calendar gets underway at 21:30 on Saturday night at the Store Street venue so we’re heading up to the merky streets of 0161 to check out ‘Curated by Skepta’. Unfortunately tickets to the event sold out pretty much as soon as they came out, so I can’t drop a ticket link in, but here’s a link to the calendar for you to see what other events still availability at WHP.

After being abroad for a year in Florida and seeing how Skepta finally took the global crown he deserved, I’m seriously gassed for what this weekend holds in store. After the huge releases of Konnichiwa and Landlord from Skepta and Giggs this Summer I don’t think a day has passed where I haven’t span a track from either album. Skep is doing Skep, and Giggs is doing Giggs, neither have sold out and neither have regressed. There’s a lot of difference in the vibe on an album and the vibe of a live show though, and it’s that raw energy and delivery that I’m most looking forward to seeing. With Frisco there too there’s gonna be a heavy BBK vibe, and with a whole A* line-up of DJs well versed in the intricacies of grime (particularly Mumdance and Plastician), there’s no way this night won’t bang. Bet anyone a tenner that the tune below will definitely bang too.

There tryna work out whats happening, David Cameron on the phone to Obama man are shaking and panicking when they see the Shoreditch gathering.

Another perk of going up to Manchester is that I get to link up with one of our other crewmen there Cal. He published the Konnichiwa preview a week or two before it dropped and was more or less spot on. Lad’s more gassed than me.

Only flicker of anxiety in my peripheral is Skepta’s recent cancellation of his Australia tour. Guess it was just to focus all his energy on this one. It’s WHP too, who can blame him?

You never know, if he loves WHP that much he might go and get a tattoo of it, right next to the OVO one.

Franklin.
