Flexout Audio are back. This time enlisting the red hot talents of upcoming producer Monty for their next release. The Temptation EP showcases Monty’s cutting edge production ability that has been the hallmark of everything he puts his name to. This is one of the many reasons he is has been nominated for Best Newcomer in DNBArena Awards.
Monty only came to attention late last year. After receiving word from a certified head that this guy was gonna be the name everyone will be talking about come the end of 2017. Initially I was a bit sceptical of this premonition. Now here we are, 21 sleeps til Christmas (yeah I know I haven’t bought any presents yet either) and I am eating several courses of humble pie.
The young Toulouse based talent has released this year on labels such as 1985 Music, Vandal Records and Critical Music which has been receiving support from all corners of the drum & bass world. As well as this, he has played sets at huge parties across Europe building a reputation not only as a talented producer, but as a DJ too. His diverse selection and high energy mixing takes the audience on a sonic journey through wonky halftime beats and rollers with the consistent theme of fun, catchy basslines with unparalleled groove to cause maximum impact.
Monty previously debuted on Flexout’s Waves series last year showcasing some serious halftime flavours. Now he returns to Flexout Audio with a 4 track EP, and a free download chucked in for good measure. Spanning the styles he is rapidly becoming renowned for across these tracks, there is certainly something for everyone in this release.
The Temptation EP really is a masterpiece in my opinion. Monty flows through different sub genres whilst retaining his unique sound throughout, further illustrating his impeccably high level production. We have been fully supporting the EP which makes it hard to single any one track as a stand out. From the dreamy liquid vibes of Say To Me, to the unforgiving beast that is Ectoplasm and everything in between – Monty demonstrates the depth in his palette of sounds. This release firmly cements Monty’s status as one of the best upcoming names in the scene. He really is setting the bar higher and higher with everything he puts out so we cannot wait to see what comes next from the French protégé.
