Critical Music bossman Kasra (aka Kasra Mowlavi) is releasing his first solo EP next week. After running the imprint for sixteen years and releasing some notable collaborations along the way – Enei, InsideInfo, Mefjus – the label boss is ready to unveil his own contribution to the continuing legacy of Critical Music.
Marking the ‘start of a new phase’ for Kasra in which he can now focus more on his production alongside running the label and his DJing, he describes the 4 track EP as ‘raw, honest drum and bass’. Described as ‘rolling low end’ tracks, each composition shows a different facet to Kasra’s musical prowess and is exactly what is described. Worth the wait and a taste of what’s to come from the man behind drum and bass’ most beloved imprint, ‘Ski Mask’ is sure to be making the rounds for some time.
A landmark release for the renowned label, ‘Ski Mask’ is available as a limited edition coloured vinyl with silkscreen posters, as well as a bundle with a one-off run of Kasra sportswear tees from Critical Music on the 12th October. You can pre-order your copy of the release here.
