Blackout’s artist portfolio is without question; they discover and nurture some of the finest bass producers and DJ’s around. ‘Evolutions’ Volume 3 is their latest showcasing of the artists that are poised to make their mark upon this scenes progression. Boundaries, rules, formulae…..detach yourself from these shackles and you shall experience….evolution.
Proxima – ‘Closely’
This half step track starts quirky and quickly turns kinky, with a monster bass stab and classic off beat drums comprising the spinal frame. The mid-range meat spits and growls with hate to leave you feeling suitably lock-jawed.
Gydra – ‘Indoor space’
A full on nerve jangler with real purpose. The sub range is full and aggressive and the mids aint winning any award for hospitality either yet each is skillfully sculpted and arranged; Result = carnage!

Merikan – ‘End of the line’
A tune that picks a venue up by the ears and completely dominates from the off. The arrangement is top drawer and is integral to it’s ability to flood any listener with imposing doom. Twisted and upfront sums this track up!!
Splash Heads and The Clamps – ‘Useless’
An innocuous intro guise is discarded for a really atmospheric cut here in ‘Useless’. You don’t always find a heavy tech track that fits into the ‘roller’ class but this certainly does with its builds and consistency. Really classy work!
Cod3x – ‘Sublimination’
Ohh yeeaahh!! Dirty, grimey synth hooks woven around some really intricately laid bass and drums always hit ‘that’ spot! There is a wicked cinematic feel to the breakdown with some nasty drones to add to the soundscape! Love this!
