Hybris has made his name in the world of drum and bass with releases on some of the genre’s finest labels including his debut album, Emergence, which dropped on Noisia’s Invisible recordings.

He’s spent a lot of time honing his unique brand of intricate, streamlined sonic artillery and has decided to take it to the next level now with the launch of his own label, Pseudoscience Recordings.

The first EP Say Hello to The Future has just dropped and I thought what better time to find out the man’s favorite YouTube videos.  So without further ado check them out and then check out his new EP. By the way, you can cop the tune River Rat for free on his Bandcamp page.

Photek – The Hidden Camera

This tune is so beyond sick, even by today’s standards, I don’t know how Photek nailed it so hard back then. This whole album is still one of my biggest influences.

Cookie Monster Singing C Is For Cookie

While we’re on the topic of early influences, I’ve loved this song ever since I was a toddler, and recently I’ve been playing it for my daughter, who also loves it. I couldn’t sleep last night and had it stuck in my head for hours, so I figured it deserved a mention.

TIC – Controlled Explosion

Here’s another classic that was always on MTV. I got obsessed with it when it and bought the single on cassette when it came out, and spent several days walking up and down the main street in my town blaring it from my boombox. Still think it’s future as shit.

Turtles Mating – Weird Noises

It’s not gross, it’s natural, you’re gross.

Busta Rhymes  – Woo Ha
