Oliver Yorke – Digital Native / Lose Yourself [RTS003]

Retrospective recordings bring us their third release with an offering from fresh new talent, Oliver Yorke. Originally hailing from West London, Oliver Yorke was exposed to music of all kinds from an early age. Trained as a pianist, it was his father’s love of jazz that first hooked him into music, but it was cutting his teeth on the dnb scene of the 90s that set him on the journey leading to the present.  Oliver’s influences span widely inside and outside the musical spectrum: 80s acid house, Notting Hill Carnival, 90s East Coast hip hop, early No U Turn releases, and Trentmøller all play equal part to Film noir, the work of Syd Mead and James Turrell. With heavy support from dBridge, Loxy, FD, Gremlinz, Octane & DLR, Amoss to name a few. Alternative percussion patterns and neuro influenced bass sounds set the tone for things to come from Oliver Yorke. Following on from his EP on Alignment earlier this year Oliver now delivers this fantastic double single for Retrospective.
