If you’d have told me this time last year that I’d be sitting here writing an article about a pair of Diadora trainers I would have laughed in your face. But lo and behold here I am, as January of this year saw Patta’s re-design of the Diadora N9000 and now it’s Hanon’s turn to drop the heat. Well, strictly speaking they haven’t quite dropped YET so here’s a sneaky peek at what we can expect.
Aberdeen based sneaker retailer Hanon are no strangers when it comes to trainer collaborations, after releasing much sought after kicks with the likes of Reebok, Asics, Adidas and Clarks it came as no surprise to find the new Diadora N9000 “Saturday Special” yet another triumph. Admittedly the silhouette is incredibly sleek, the overall design however, is not quite as fresh as the Patta’s – that’s just my opinion but let’s be real, what is better than a Patta collab? The shoe is comprised of burgundy pig skin suede and premium leather upper, a mesh toe box, white and beige midsole, black outsole and flecks of red and leather turquoise to give it that pop. It is rumoured that the shoe is named “The Saturday Speical” to represent the colour scheme of the trains and buses that were in circulation around the uk in the 1980s and drew inspiration from the Italian sportswear of that time.
Set a reminder now for this Saturday May 31st at 10am GMT as these will be a Hanon in store exclusive. If you’re not lucky enough to grab a pair in store the remaining pairs will be released online but I can’t see these sticking around for long! Price TBC.
